Mob set three robbery suspects ablaze in Nkpor, Anambra State

Three notorious robbery suspects were on Thursday burnt to death by an angry mob in Nkpor junction, Anambra state.

The deceased were reportedly caught by some members of the vigilante at the junction.

A resident of the area who identified himself as John said the vigilantes were taking the suspects to the nearest police station when they were overpowered by the angry mob.

“The angry mob immediately set the robbers ablaze at the junction,” he said.

Confirming the incident, Police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu said calm had been restored in the area following arrival of Police Operatives in the area.

He said, “There was robbery incident at 11:45am today 20th May, 2021, around Nkpor roundabout by Ogidi. The robbers accosted their victims and dispossessed them of their personal belongings.

“During a hot chase, the angry mob lynched the suspects and set them ablaze.”
