Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has raised alarm over an alleged plan by some hoodlums to invade the southeastern state on Monday, October 26. The Nation reported that Obiano stated this at the weekend when he hosted the deputy inspector general of police, Celestine Okoye, in Aguleri, Anambra East local government area.
Governor Obiano said he would never allow the planned invasion to happen, disclosing that he had directed the Joint security team JTF to take control of the situation.

He added that intelligence indicated that those behind the attacks in Anambra state were from neighboring states. Nigeria in the past few days has been a theatre of violence as hoodlums hijacked the #EndSARS protests nationwide, causing mayhem across the country. Meanwhile, governors of the southwest states have alleged that widespread violence witnessed in Lagos during the recent protests against police brutality may have been sponsored. The governors made the statement on Sunday, October 25, shortly after assessing the damage recorded in some parts of Lagos state.
