Corps members' welfare remains our priority - Health Commissioner

Anambra state Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in the state of its priority on welfare of corps members by the state government.

Okpala gave the assurance while receiving the State Coordinator NYSC, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa in his office recently.

He urged the coordinator to always avail the ministry with timely information on the welfare needs of corps members especially as new batch of Corps members were being received and inducted into the service in orientation camps across the federation.

He thanked the scheme for their contributions in different health centres in the rural communities in the state, reminding the Coordinator that the state had been rated as one of the best NYSC friendly state.

“Having an NYSC Award Winner as the Governor, just know that you cannot expect anything less,” the Commissioner noted.

Earlier, the Coordinator had informed the Commissioner that she was in his office to express management appreciation to his ministry and the state government for the numerous contributions received.

She also solicited for sustenance especially now that the 2021 batch B stream 2 prospective corps members were being received for three weeks orientation course.

Baderinwa further assured the Commissioner that total compliance to COVID 19 Protocols would be adhered to on camp.
