Another mass abduction: 22 persons abducted in Niger State

While the government of Katsina, police, and the armed forces are still battling to rescue the scores of students kidnapped in Katsina state, another mass kidnapping has taken place in Niger State.

A large gang of kidnappers invaded two communities in Niger State, Ogu and Tegena, and whisked away about 22 persons, including four members of the same family.

An eye witness says that the invasion and abductions took place around 12:30am on Monday, 14th December 2020. The criminals took the affected communities by surprise, shooting sporadically into the air ONITSHA GRA learned. This got residents scampering for safety.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Katsina, His Excellency, Governor Aminu Masari, has visited President Muhammadu Buhari in his Daura home in order to brief him on the situation in Katsina. According to him, contact had been established with the abductors of the Government Science Secondary School students, Kankara, and assured that efforts are being intensified to bring the students back to their families. Another interesting and related piece of information is that one of the abducted students had managed to escape from the kidnappers.
