Chairman, Anambra Demand Soludo, Chief Jude Emecheta has commended youths in the state for clamoring for emergence of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as Gov. Willie Obiano’s successor.
He said efforts of the youths of the state to ensure peaceful and credible transition of power in Anambra come March 17, 2022 was unprecedented.
Addressing newsmen in Awka, Emecheta said the youths through their presentation of N22million in support of the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria was commendable.
He said the youths under the auspices of Anambra Youths National Solidarity, had demonstrated the mind of citizens of the state who needed good leadership.
He said, “The youths were well organised and demonstrated sense of responsibility in chatting a new course for their wellbeing by supporting Soludo’s political aspiration.
“Their engagement of state law makers, Commissioners, Traditional rulers, Transition Committee Chairmen of various Council Areas, among others shows they are focused and serious,” he said.
“This is a proof that Anambra have got youths that are politically active and willing to be part of progress in the state, we have youths who cannot be used for political violence,” he said.
Describing Soludo’s aspiration to be the next governor of the state as apt, Emecheta who is also the Managing Director, Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency, insisted that he remained best person to consolidate good governance legacies of the present administration.
He urged the youths l to stand firm in their support for Soludo as they did during the campaign of Gov. Willie Obiano in 2013.
“I am optimistic that Obiano will finish strong and that his successor will consolidate on all his legacies including youth development.
“As the youths has demonstrated the support it implies that they will join hands to fight insecurity and other social vices that had derail development in the state,” he added.
Emecheta further praised the lawmaker representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Mr Chinedu Obidigwe for tutoring the youths to be politically active to make rights decisions in due times.
He urged them to ensure that the 26 Sienna buses donated to the youth groups by Obidigwe to support their efforts to realise Soludo’s aspiration will be put to good use.
