Member representing Orumba North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assemby, Hon Emeka Aforka has reassured that All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) would emerge victorious in the November 6 Governorship election in the state regardless of political distractions.
He maintained that the party’s authentic candidate remained former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof Chukwuma Soludo, regretting that activities of political gladiators were targeted at distracting party faithful.
Addressing journalists on Thursday in Awka, the lawmaker however pleaded with aggrieved members to sheathe their swords and support the party by queueing behind Soludo.
He urged them to perish the idea of going to court, describing it as exercise in futility as it would only amount to waste of resources.
He said, “I don’t know why somebody should go to court to waste his resources. If you use that money to support the party to win the election, it would have been better and the party must have gone very far.
“APGA as a political party has made a unanimous decision. We have made our choice and our choice is the best. The right candidate for APGA in the person of professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is our choice as a family.
“Everybody is interested to become a governor, I am interested, you are interested, but everybody cannot be a governor of Anambra state. It must be one at a time. So for now it is the time of Soludo. I advise aggrieved members to queue behind Soludo and support the party.”
Aforka further boasted that history of winning election in the state would repeat itself in the forthcoming poll.
“The overwhelming victory of 21/21 recorded in the last election of Governor Willie Obiano will repeat itself come November 6 2021.
“APGA is a party to be with. We are fully on ground irrespective of various schemings in the party. Just like in every family, you always have one or two issues. So you can’t rule out the fact that there is no issue in any family.
“But in the case of APGA, we are taking care of issues and we are going to make it. APGA will take over Anambra state again,” he stated.
