The executive governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has set up a local security outfit in the state, ONITSHAGRA.COM reports. The outfit was commissioned on Wednesday 16th December by the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar Adamu. The outfit is codenamed “Abia State Homeland Security Watch”. To ensure efficiency, the governor also established alongside the outfit, a technology system which he called the “Crime Prevention And Management System”.
Both security outfit and the technology system are expected to work hand in glove, and improve community policing in combating crime.
The governor seized the opportunity to announce his plans to provide solar systems and computers to all police divisions in the state.
