Three persons sustained varying degrees of injury in a motor accident in Umuokpu, by Awka-Enugu expressway, Anambra State.
The crash which occurred around 2.30pm involved a shuttle bus and Toyota Hilux Pickup with four persons on board.
According to an eyewitness report, the bus driver was on speed, overtook wrongfully, left his lane, and rammed into the oncoming Hilux which was also on speed, on a single carriage way and crashed.
Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adeoye Irelewuyi attributed the cause of the crash to wrongful overtaking and speed.
He wished the injured victims quick recovery, urging motoring public to ensure the roads were clear before overtaking and also maintain safe speed limit.
He said, “A Serious Road traffic crash Occurred at Umuokpu, by Awka-Enugu express way today 27th November, 2021 at about 1430hrs.
“The crash was between two vehicles.

“The probable cause of the serious crash was attributed to Wrongful Overtaking and Speed.
“According to an eyewitness report, the bus driver was on speed, overtook wrongfully, left his lane, and rammed into the oncoming Hilux which was also on speed, on a single carriage way and crashed.
“4 male adult were involved in the Crash.
Number injured: 03 male adult, number killed: Nil. 1 male adult came out unhurt.
Irelewuyi added that the injured victims were taken to Princeton hospital Awka, while FRSC personnel were on ground to managed traffic and ensured obstruction caused was cleared.
